Steve Jobs screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has apologized after slamming Apple CEO Tim Cook over remarks he made about the upcoming biopic.
“You know what, I think that Tim Cook and I probably both went a little too far,” he told E! News on Saturday. “And I apologize to Tim Cook. I hope when he sees the movie, he enjoys it as much as I enjoy his products.”

Sorkin criticized Cook and Apple at a London press junket for Steve Jobs, after Cook appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and called the slate of recent films about the late Apple co-founder “opportunistic.”
“Nobody did this movie to get rich,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Secondly, Tim Cook should really see the movie before he decides what it is.”
Then, Sorkin added, “Third, if you’ve got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour, you’ve got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic.”
Steve Jobs, written by Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, will screen at the New York Film Festival before opening in theaters Oct. 9. It stars Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels.
