With a little over a month to go until after the Oscar nominations announcement, the US Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed a list of twenty films compete for Best Visual Effects and won 88 Oscars hottest category nod .

The above movies will be whittled down to a shortlist of ten for nominations voting later this month, with the final five nominees announced on January 14th. The winner will then be revealed at the 88th Academy Awards on February 28th.
