If you were wondering whether you’d get to see Batman and Superman have some sort of adversarial relationship with one another in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, your questions have been answered. Coinciding with the Las Vegas Licensing Expo 2015, Warner Bros. Consumer Products released a plot synopsis for the film, which doesn’t hit theaters until March 25. While not much is revealed that wasn’t apparent in the trailer, we can at least deduce that the title of the movie will be accurate.
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
It’s unclear whether the “new threat” the synopsis refers to will turn out to be Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor or someone else entirely. We do know, however, that Ben Affleck is playing Batman, while Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, in the Zack Snyder follow-up to Man of Steel.
