Brie Larson confirms Kong: Skull Island role with a letter from the big guy himself

It’s pretty difficult to say no to a movie role when King Kong is the one sending out the invites.

Brie Larson confirmed her role in the upcoming Kong: Skull Island by tweeting a photo of her special invitation from the big guy himself. “Brie, welcome to the jungle. Love, King Kong,” the letter says. Larson joins Tom Hiddleston in the film, which will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

Larson, 25, was said to have entered talks for the role shortly after Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons dropped out of the film. According to reports, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Wilkenson are among the names being considered to replace them.

Kong: Skull Island is a prequel of sorts to the King Kong story. When the project was first announced, Legendary Pictures described it as taking audiences deeper inside Skull Island, where Kong calls home. No other details on the film or Larson’s role are available at this time, but you can check out her unique invite below.

Legendary and Universal will release the film on March 10, 2017.
