John Goodman and Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Project X) are packing their bags for a trip to King Kong’s native land. The actors will join Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and John C. Reilly in Kong: Skull Island, Legendary Pictures’ monster movie delving deeper the mythos of the Eighth Wonder of the World. Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) is directing the film, which recently moved from Universal to Warner Bros. to set up a potential Godzilla crossover. Rising star Domhnall Gleeson — it’s pronounced like tonal, but with a D — is reteaming with Frank director Lenny Abrahamson for a big-screen adaptation of The Little Stranger. Scripted by Lucinda Coxon, the movie is based on Sarah Waters’ gothic novel about a country doctor in postwar England who befriends a family residing in a crumbling estate. Sam Claflin, known to Hunger Games fans as hunky tribute Finnick Odair, is in negotiations to co-star with Rachel Weisz in the mystery-romance My Cousin Rachel. Based on the Daphne Du Maurier novel, which was previously brought to the screen with Olivia de Havilland and Richard Burton, the movie will tell the story of an orphan (Claflin) who suspects a beautiful woman (Weisz) of murdering his beloved cousin.
