Happy Birthday To Glazer Museum

The museum is at 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa and is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 a. m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Admission is normally $15, $9.50 for children. But Sept. 6-30 it will be only $6. Then Sept. 24-25, admission will be free for a weekend “Particle Party.”

The hands-on museum opened its doors next to Tampa’s Curtis Hixon Park on Sept. 25, 2010, revealing 53,000 square feet and three levels of play stations. It drew about 215,000 visitors last year, including summer campers, for its mission to bring brain-building and science lessons to playtime for kids 10 and younger.

That’s a carbon-inspired party, “for all protons, electrons and atoms to help us celebrate this year.” The weekend will have science-filled programs and cupcake treats for an atomic birthday bash.
