The long wait is finally over!Michael Fassbender Reveals Details On 'Assassin's Creed' Movie As Ubisoft Confirms Official Release Date

Four years after Ubisoft has started to develop a movie adaptation to the hit game “Assassin’s Creed,” an official release date has been confirmed.

And while fans will have to wait until 2016 before the movie arrives, Michael Fassbender, who will both star and produce the film has revealed details about “Assassin’s Creed.”

In a reported interview with Game Spot, the 38-year-old German-Irish actor admitted that he had read the script for the movie, explaining why it took long for “Assassin’s Creed” movie to finally push through.

“You say it’s a long time, but what I’ve found – it’s all new to me, but starting to develop scripts and work on them, they take time,” Fassbender claimed.

And while the movie release date is reportedly going to happen on Dec. 21, 2016, based on the official poster, Michael Fassbender revealed that they will start production as early as September.

“It just takes time to get a good story together and we really want to do it right. It’s exciting. It’s going to start this year, we’ll be filming in September.”

And in a separate interview with Movie Pilot, “X-Men” star Michael Fassbender explained how hard it is for such a complicated game to be adapted in a big production movie.

“That’s always the challenge of something that’s so dense, to really find something and pare it down and basically, there are so many elements to it, so trying to translate that to an audience, you have to pick key things,” the actor explained. “So yes, that is part of it, getting through the density of it and paring down and engaging a simple story.”

“Assassin’s Creed” movie release date is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 21, 2016, with no other actors in addition to Michael Fassbender being revealed.
