See the trailer for Katy Perry: Making of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show

Katycats, rejoice! If Katy Perry’s 12 1/2-minute halftime performance at this year’s Super Bowl wasn’t quite enough Katy for you, don’t worry: There’s a whole documentary about the show on the way.

Super Bowl XLIX, which saw the Patriots victorious over the Seahawks (and Chris Evans victorious over Chris Pratt), smashed records as the most-watched program in television history, with 114.4 million viewers. (The star of next year’s halftime show has yet to be announced, but the spot has been offered to Bruno Mars, who also performed at the 2014 Super Bowl.)

For those who would have preferred a little more candy-coated pop and a little less actual football, John Hirsch’s documentary, pieced together from over 100 hours of footage, chronicles Perry’s extensive preparations for the halftime show and pays particular attention to the extreme pressure on a performer to deliver in front of such a huge audience.

No word on whether Left Shark features prominently in the doc, but we can only hope that his preparations will be included as well.

Katy Perry: Making of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show will have its world premiere on Saturday at the La Costa Film Festival. Check out the trailer below.
