Frank Darabont no longer directing 'The Huntsman'
While he’s relatively new to the director’s chair, he isn’t new to the franchise, as he was nominated for an Oscar for his work as a visual effects supervisor for the 2012 original, Snow White and the Huntsman. He’s also directing Highlander for Summit and Universal’s Bethlehem.
The Huntsman, slated for an April 22, 2016, release, will follow The Huntsman Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and Ravenna (Charlize Theron) before they met Snow White. Emily Blunt is in negotiations to join the cast.
Darabont wrote the screenplay. Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland) returns to produce, while Palak Patel will executive produce.
